PURPOSE

 

At Alice, we’re supporting effective social and environmental projects by offering donors transparency.

Using blockchain, we’re incentivising charities to become more open about how they structure their projects, in return for restored trust from the public.

Through our platform, donors can also make their donations conditional to the project having demonstrable impact, shifting the traditional model of charitable giving to one of “payment-by-results”.

 
 
 

PROBLEM

 

There is a worldwide issue with trust in charitable organisations, due to a perceived lack of transparency as to how they spend donations.

 
 
 

SOLUTION

 

At Alice, we’re building a mutually beneficial ecosystem for charitable giving, which incentivises charities to be more transparent about their impact. Who did they help? What were the costs? What lessons were learned?

All of this information becomes accessible to donors using blockchain, so that they can choose who they donate to based on how effective and scalable the project is. In return, donors trust charities and give more, as the industry trend of public distrust in the charity sector is reversed.

The first project that we’ve launched is a crowdfunding platform for charities, which makes public donations conditional to the project’s success. If the charity doesn’t achieve its targets, or the validator doesn’t confirm that the project’s actually made an impact, you, as the donor, get your money back. You also have the chance to evaluate the project’s structure from the outset, so you can decide for yourself if the project costs and structure are reasonable.

HOW CAN I HELP?

 

UX/UI DESIGNER / PRODUCT DESIGNER / FRONT-END DEVELOPER

Help a startup intent on bringing transparency to the social funding sector, with the structuring of a clear and consistent brand throughout our website, products, and marketing collateral.

We would be grateful for the support of an expert in crafting style guides and brand guidelines, who could shape the way that we do UX/UI, Product Design and Brand, and bring consistency and clarity to our method. 

This would involve guiding us on exciting new product launches, while also evaluating and helping us with our current brand assets. An excellent opportunity to guide, shape, and mentor an early-stage startup that is looking to make charities more effective and transparent.

  • Time 4+ hours per week for 12 weeks.

BLOCKCHAIN (ETHEREUM) ENGINEER / PARTNERSHIPS

Help out a leading startup in the “Blockchain for Good” space, with guidance for the architecture and development of a social impact investment platform on the Ethereum blockchain.

This is an opportunity to work together with our CTO, Product Manager, and (pro bono) compliance team, to plan and develop a product that will benefit charities and social projects worldwide.

This will involve scoping out challenges and assessing feasibility, while identifying any potential partners that may reduce on the technical capacity and resources required. 

Your experience will be crucial and you’ll intimately work with the most exciting aspects of our roadmap, helping us on our mission to make social funding more effective and transparent.

  • Time 4+ hours per week for 12 weeks.

PRODUCT MARKETING / FACEBOOK ADS SPECIALIST

Help a startup looking to bring transparency to the social funding sector, by providing expertise on how to get the most from product analytics, and how best to structure A/B testing funnels and ad campaigns using Facebook Ads.

While we have a donations platform in production – already used by charities – we’re looking to iterate, improve our product, and test our assumptions. Your expertise will guide our creation of an A/B testing funnel on Facebook Ads, structure our product analytics, and evaluate our messaging, value propositions, and overall narrative.

Work directly with our COO and Product Manager and help a “Blockchain for Good” startup bring transparency and trust to the charity sector.

  • Time 4+ hours per week for 12 weeks.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER (CHARITIES/NONPROFITS)

Help a startup looking to make charities more effective and transparent, by guiding, structuring, and advising on our new business/commercial efforts.

While we’re already onboarding charities and working through our commercial pipeline, we need greater visibility over the most resourceful means of securing, prioritising, and determining the value of new clients.

Provide your insight directly to our CEO and Commercial Director to help structure our commercial pipeline, identify potential opportunities, and evaluate our business processes so far; and play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission of bringing transparency to the social funding sector.

  • Time 3+ hours per week for 12 weeks.

COMMUNITY / EVENTS MANAGER

Help a startup in the “Blockchain for Good” space build an active community using existing interest in our products and mission.

 While we already have a great level of interest in our product and mission (a 200-person event we’re running in Prague sold out in a few days, before we’d even started promoting it), we need your expertise to convert this interest into an active and engaged community.

Work with our Community Manager and COO to evaluate our current efforts, and identify opportunities to engage our audience. Your support will be vital in helping us promote what we’re working on to bring transparency to the social funding sector.

  • Time 2+ hours per week for 8 weeks.
