Make Social Action Normal

Warm up 6.JPG

We want to revolutionise the way young people grow up, by making it EASY for parents, teachers, youth workers and charities to offer high impact opportunities to make a difference from a young age.

Today’s young people are the changemaker generation. Teenagers and kids have never been so switched on to social problems, or so willing and driven to make a positive difference. But despite this, social action is still seen as a ‘nice to have’ within formal education, and only a minority of willing young people are taking action.

We want to change that by making social action a normal part of growing up.

There is already high demand from young people to take part in social action, but not enough high quality opportunities. To connect the demand with supply - we need to make it easy for teachers, parents and youth workers to provide the right kind of support and projects for young people.

Generation Change is building a movement to put best practice in the hands of the frontline professionals who are best placed to support young people’s social action.

We will support structured programmes to engage in rigorous, evidence based learning - and support a wide audience of practitioners in youth settings to learn about and adopt best practice - by creating engaging, easy to use resources, and running learning events to create a dynamic professional network.
