โI FEEL LUCKY AND GRATEFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY MY SKILLS TO EMPOWER WOMEN AND YOUNG GIRLSโ
Eleni Sia ๐ฌ๐ท
โMy name is Eleni and I am from Greece. I recently graduated from UCL in MSc Paediatric Neuropsychology. I obtained my BSc Psychology from University of Sussex. My professional background involves working with children and adults with neurological disorders both in clinical and research settings.
At We Encourage, I aid the Artificial Intelligence Research Team to build a chatbot for providing psycho-social support and guidance to women victims of domestic violence. My duties involve maintaining and coding interview data and then inputting the data into the chatbot, while working collaboratively with people from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds.
I feel lucky and grateful to be part of an international team which has given me the opportunity to apply my skills to empower women and young girls, giving them a voice and changing their everyday lives.โ
โMY EXPERIENCE ALLOWED ME TO DEVELOP THE SKILLS I HAVE LEARNED ACADEMICALLYโ
Harkiran Bharij ๐ฌ๐ง
โMy name is Harkiran Bharij and I am from the United Kingdom. I have a degree in sociology from the University of Westminster and have a great interest in development and research. At We Encourage, I have been using my research skills to analyse and interpret literature on domestic violence so that the most important parts can be delved into.
My experience volunteering for the project has been very insightful and informative, allowing me to develop the skills that I have learned academically within a professional environment while also giving me the option to learn something new.โ
RESULT
โIt was very smooth and easy onboarding experience. I truly enjoyed the chance to notice how many people were willing to support our mission.โ
