Transforming Consumer Culture in Norway

How ChangeMakers helped build a market place for sustainable everyday products 🇳🇴

Ence challenges the market standard today to become more sustainable. We demand priority of people and the environment before profit, meaning ethical work environments, use of environmental-friendly materials, focus on long-lasting quality products, use of renewable energy when possible etc.

We collect brands prioritizing people and the environment in their supply chains, and who continuously work on being transparent. No consumption is entirely sustainable, but we pick out the best available brands. This to make it easier for consumers to find and to shop from these brands. We aim to present these products as substitutes to our customers' already consumption, not to encourage further consumption than necessary 🇳🇴

HOW WE MAKE CHANGE

Ence were looking for volunteers to help them with Design, Marketing and Writing in order to address their Sustainable Development Goals of Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Climate Action (SDG 13) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

We connected them with skilled ChangeMakers. Here’s how they have helped 🙌

“I WORK WITH AN AWESOME, SELF-MOTIVATED TEAM FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AND NATIONALITIES WHICH HAS ENRICHED MY NETWORK”

ANNE SANT 🇳🇴🇩🇰

‘My name is Anne, and I’m half Norwegian and half Danish. I’m doing a masters in Strategy, Organisation and Leadership at Copenhagen Business School. During my bachelors in Oslo I wanted to start doing more work on sustainability and to make a positive impact. I, therefore, started working with Ence in November 2020.

I started working with marketing and social media. During the summer of 2021 I became the Head of Communication. This means that I still focus on our social media platforms, but also contribute to making sure everyone in the team knows what to do, help in the hiring process of new employees, and contribute with multiple other projects. Ence recently completed the Impactara Change Programme, where we received support from Improvement Coaches. Here, I worked with project management and organized every weekly meeting and agendas.

The experience has been great so far. I work with an awesome, self-motivated team from different backgrounds and nationalities which has enriched my network as well. I learned how to deal with these differences. I also learned how to be more organized and pay more attention to details at the same time. I learned how to coordinate between the different team players and follow up with them. I learned how to write reports and give feedback on other people's work.’
