PA Consulting Supercharge Sustainable Transport Solutions

How PA Consulting employees volunteered with social enterprises building sustainable solutions to transport challenges

The PA Consulting Transport Change Day brought together 15 PA Consulting employees to volunteer their skills to supercharge 4 social enterprises building sustainable solutions to transport challenges.

Why Sustainable Transport?

Sustainable transport is crucial for reducing environmental and climate impact.

Sustainable transportation can enhance economic growth and improve accessibility. It also can achieve better integration of the economy while respecting the environment. Sustainable transport is also a method of improving social equity, health, resilience of cities, urban-rural linkages and productivity of rural areas.

The Change Day gave PA Consulting employees the opportunity to volunteer their skills to support sustainable solutions to transport challenges.

The Social Enterprises

The social enterprises they supported were:

BD Waste who are an end-to-end digital platform connecting waste generators with collectors, processors and recyclers in Africa πŸ‡¬πŸ‡

CarryLarry who offer a comfortable and cool 4-wheeled e-bike with a roof enabling anyone to safely enjoy the freedom of cycling πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ή

Electrek Explorer who help tackle the climate crisis by incentivising low carbon electric vehicle (EV) travel and nature tourism πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Skipit who enable people to use the most sustainable mode of transportation in any country using just one app πŸ‡©πŸ‡°

What Happened

Ahead of the day, the PA Consulting employees were matched with a social enterprise based on the skills they needed.

On the day, they got to work! During the 4 hour session, the PA Consulting employees worked to support the social enterprises with what they needed, including business development, strategy, operations and a whole lot more!

At the end of the day, the PA Consulting employees and social enterprises reflected on the session and shared the steps they would take beyond the Change Day to grow the impact of the social enterprises.
