Volunteering to End Gender-Based Violence
We created Global Change Days as online volunteering events to enable corporate teams and individuals to volunteer their skills to make change by supporting Social Enterprises in just a day.
Our End Gender-Based Violence Change Day was our very first Global Change Day and brought together 15 ChangeMakers with skills in Business Development, Marketing, Research and Strategy to support 4 of our Social Enterprise Members.
The ChangeMakers were a mix of corporate volunteers from Kinetic Consulting, Think Opal, the We Make Change team and individuals from our ChangeMaker community.
THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES
The Social Enterprises they supported were:
Kwanele who provide an easy-to-use mobile app that gives victims of Gender-Based Violence a way to get help fast and guides them through the process of laying a charge 🇿🇦
Metta Space who are a Deep Tech, B2B platform on a mission to eradicate sexual harassment from the workplace 🇪🇸
Spher who are building a womxn-empowering community and security application that is set out to create a better and safer tomorrow 🇸🇪
Visible Platform who exist to bring an end to sexual harassment on public transport, making women feel safer as they travel and experience public life 🇬🇧
WHAT HAPPENED
Ahead of the day, the ChangeMakers were matched with a Social Enterprise based on the skills they have and those the Social Enterprise needed.
On the day, they got to work! During the 4 hour session, the ChangeMakers worked in teams to support the Social Enterprises with what they needed, including marketing campaigns, business development, research and a whole lot more!
At the end of the day, the ChangeMakers and Social Enterprises shared their reflections, and we matched those interested in working together beyond the Change Day to grow the impact of their Social Enterprise.
