Volunteering for Nature
We created Change Days as online volunteering events to enable ChangeMakers to volunteer their skills and Social Enterprises to get the skills they need in a fun, meaningful and effective way in just a day.
The Conservation Change Day brought together 20 ChangeMakers with skills in Business Development, Marketing, and Research to support 3 of our Social Enterprise Members.
THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES
EcoManka support civic engagement for adolescences through an educational program that combines video game play of an environmental value with experiential learning civic eco-volunteering and eco-entrepreneurship activities 🇨🇴
EcoWillow Ghana who work to reverse the effects of climate change in Ghana through educational programs, promoting sustainable products and planting trees 🇬🇭
The Biodiversity Group who conserve underserved wildlife species and ecosystems, improve livelihoods for associated communities, and improve the efficacy of conservation nonprofits 🇺🇸
WHAT HAPPENED
Ahead of the day, the ChangeMakers were matched with a Social Enterprise based on the causes they care about and the skills the Social Enterprises needed.
On the day, they got to work! During the 5 hour session, the ChangeMakers worked in teams to support the Social Enterprises with what they needed, including business development, market research, marketing strategy, product development and a whole lot more!
At the end of the day, the ChangeMakers and Social Enterprises presented their work together, including the steps they would take beyond the Change Day to grow the impact of the Social Enterprise.
